Things to do in Cabo San Lucas

Los Cabos is actually made up of  two separate towns at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula — San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. The tip of the baja has a ton of things to do no matter what your in the mood for, whether it’s exploring the rich history of the region to taking part in the vibrant nightlife.

If you are planning a trip to Los Cabos, number one on your list has to be seafood. The streets of Cabo San Lucas are riddled with taco spots such as Mariscos Torito and Asi Asado: two locals favorites. One of the best hole in the walls is Pochos seafood, a tiny 8 table restaurant in the center of the Cabo San Lucas Marina.

Surf's up, the beaches in cabo boast so of the best surfing in the Baja Peninsula. If you're a pro surfer then grab your board and hit the beach, if you're a beginner, no problem there are a variety of surf shops that will rent you a board and take you out for a lesson. Any surf fan needs to be sure to make a day trip to Cerritos Beach Club & Surf at Todos Santos. If you’re feeling truly adventurous, try flyboarding – similar to wakeboarding, but with a jet pack.

A bustling art scene is alive and well at the tip of the baja, San Jose del Cabo is home to a large variety of artist and art galleries.  Enjoy strolling the streets and exploring the galleries at one of the monthly art walks in San Jose del Cabo. The Art Walk is held every Thursday night from November until June.  

Referred to by Jacques Cousteau as the “aquarium of the world,” a trip to Los Cabos is not complete without exploring the underwater wonders of the Sea of Cortez. Be sure to visit Cabo Pulmo National Park for incredible snorkeling and diving.  Also you can not miss a quick dive at pelican rock, where you will find an abundant sea life including frogfish, hermit crabs, and scorpian fish.  Just a short swim away is the famous san falls, where you can watch as the sand flows through the underwater hourglass.  

Sportfishing is a must do in Cabo San Lucas.  The tip of the baja is famous for blue marlin, sailfish and wahoo.  A day out on the water will with one of the top fishing companies like Red Rum will satisfy anyone looking to wrangle in a prize catch for themselves.  If you want to drop you catch off and have it prepared for you there is no one better than Tiki bar to slice up your fresh catch and serve some of the best sushi and ceviche around.

The famous rock formation Arch of Cabo San Lucas, also known as Land’s End, marks the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula. Grab a water taxi or glass bottom boat from the Marina and ask the captain to drop you off on lovers beach for a relaxing walk on the sand and an incredible photo op.  Just on the other side through the small break in the rocks is divorce beach.  Stand in the middle and you can see both the sea of cortez and the pacific ocean.

Clearly, adventurous travelers will find no shortage of active things to do in Los Cabos.  Head out to Wild Canyon for a thrilling zipline or scenic ATV tour.  Grab a paddle board from SUP paddle boards on Medano beach and head out for your own tour of the lands end iconic sights.
