Our Top 5 Taco spots in Cabo San Lucas
Tacos are a must for just about anyone traveling south of the border. Cabo San Lucas has no shortage of taco stands, carts and restaurants. To make your vacation a little easier we did the dirty work and eat our way through cabo trying out all of the best tacos we could find. Here is our top 5 tacos in Cabo San Lucas
El Gran Pastor ranks #1 on our list. This local favorite opens up in the late afternoon or early evening serving up the perfect tacos all night long. Our favorite menu item here are the open faced torta style tacos. Fresh homemade tortillas are crimped and griddled, topped with a generous helping of melted cheese and meat. There's a small toppings bar with all kinds of salsas, onions, cabbage, radishes, fresh limes and more so you can doctor your plate up with as much or as little extras that you want.
Coming at #2 is Tacos Guss. This little spot is in the heart of Cabo San Lucas and is open for lunch dinner and that always needed 4th meal. One of our favorite things about Guss is the variety of toppings that they bring to your table, everything from a variety of onions to a multitude of salsas. One of our favorites here is the arrachera quesadilla.
A must go to is #3 on our list Tacos Gardenias. This hot spot just a short stroll from Medano beach is one of the best places to grab a seafood cocktail in town, remember to order the one with octopus and fish. Pair that with one of their oversized margaritas and you are good to go. As far as tacos go, you have to order the shrimp tacos, they are to die for, served on a fresh made tortilla you can fix this up anyway you desire with the numerous toppings that they provide.
Rolling in at #4 is Asi Asado. This roadside tacos spot has been featured on Diners Driveins and Dives so you know it was gonna be in the top 5. Arrachera is the way to go, some of the best arrachera tacos that we have ever had. All of their tacos are served up on your choice of a fresh flour or corn tortilla. You also have to try the grilled veggies, awesome add-on to any meal.
Topping of the list is our #5 El Paisa. This is one of the best local spots, a little off the tourist path but well worth the drive. The tacos are to die for no matter what route you choose to go. The El Pastor is always fresh and the arrachera is perfect. But you have to try one of the baked potatoes. I know that sound strange when you're at a taco place. The baked potatoes come filled with your favorite meat and cheese, then add the toppings from the bar to finish it off.
